 ShaoLin of Asheville's instructor, Bob Cummings, has studied martial arts for over 18 years, and ShaoLin Tao exclusively for over 15 years. He was awarded his First, Second, and Third Degree Black Sash in the ShaoLin Tao system by Grandmaster Sin Kwang Thé.
Bob's teacher, Elder Master Garry Mullins, has studied under Grandmaster Sin Kwang Thé since 1973 and is one of five 8th Degree Elder ShaoLin Masters in America. Bob continues to regularly receive training from Master Mullins.
Bob's personal major system of study in ShaoLin Tao is the Black Tiger system, representing power, strength and aggression. He is also adept at the systems of White Crane, ShaoLin Bird, as well as the internal systems of Tai Chi Ch’uan, Pa Qua Ch’ang, and Hsing I. He brings with him the history and knowledge of the ShaoLin tradition, and has been certified by his teacher and Grandmaster Sin to pass on the knowledge of the art of ShaoLin.
